When Justin's mom opened the car door. Justin quickly pulled back and said, "Hi, mama." Justin's mom heard his voice, which sounded flustered, and replied, "Hi Justin, what were you kids doing?". Justin and Britney looked at each other, and said, a little to fast, "Nothing.". Justin's mom looked at the children, smiled and said, "Ok, then." then she got in the driver's seat and started to drive to her house.

"So, Britney, who's your favourite singer?" Lynn asked. "Madonna." Britney and Justin said at the same time, and then both started laughing. "Wow, in one day it looks like you two have become the best of friends!" Lynn commented, remembering how the day before Justin had said that him and Britney didn't even have a decent conversation. Britney and Justin looked at each other, giggled, and stated, "Yeah." The rest of the drive home consisted of the trio singing kids songs like 'Bingo', Justin and Britney playing punch buggy and rock paper scissors, and them sharing a large fry from McDonalds. ("Or chips, as Ryan Gosling would say!" Britney commented, resulting in Justin choking on a rather stringy fry).

"Well, we're here!" Lynn said, as the car finally stopped. "Geez, what time is it?" asked Britney. "I don't know, ask Flavor Flav." Justin joked. "What?" Britney asked, not knowing who Flavor Flav was. "He's a rapper. He always wears a giant clock around his neck." Lynn explained. Britney giggled and tapped Justin's forehead lightly with the back of her hand. "Hey!" Justin exclaimed. "But seriously, what time is it?" Britney asked, really wanting to know. "It is 9:40." Lynn answered, looking at the watch on her wrist. Lynn, Britney, and Justin all walked up to the house together. Lynn unlocked the door and said, "Ok, sweetie, you can just put you're shoes here."

Britney put her shoes down by a little shoe cubby hole thingy and looked around. The hallway she was in had dark hardwood floor and cream coloured walls. On her left was a closet, on her right and up a few steps was a stairway with soft grey carpet. In front of her she could see a dark living room and just in front of the stairway on her left, she could see a lighted doorway, without a door. Britney walked up to it, knowing that that was where Justin and Lynn were, and saw that it was a kitchen. She stepped in the kitchen, and saw a fridge on the wall in front of her, on her left an oven and marble counters, above were a series of cupboards, and bellow some drawers and more cupboards. On the counters were various appliances, and a sink was in the middle. There was more of this on the wall in front of her leading up to the fridge. On the wall to her right, there was a doorway, again with no door, leading to what appeared to be the living room. Also on her right, Lynn and Justin were standing beside a wood table. Lynn was wearing a pink shirt with a jean jacket that had now been draped over a chair and black pants. Justin was wearing a plain white t-shirt and jeans.

"Ok, so um...you guys want to watch some tv?" asked Lynn. The children nodded, and Lynn led them to the living room. Britney looked around and saw a bathroom and a tv on the right wall, a couple windows with blue-ish grey curtains, and on the left a black couch and a dark wooden coffee table. "Well kids, I think I'm going to go to sleep. Justin, make sure you show Britney where the spare room is. And don't stay up too late!" Lynn said, surpressing a yawn. "Ok." the two kids said as Lynn walked upstairs. It was then that Justin looked over at Britney and noticed what she was wearing. She was wearing jeans and a cute little baby blue t-shirt that had a baby Minnie Mouse on it.

"Cute shirt." Justin commented sitting down beside her on the couch. "Thanks." Britney said in her whisper-like tone. "What do you want to watch?" asked Justin. "I don't care." Britney replied. Why is it so cold in here? Britney thought to herself, shivering and rubbing her arms. This isn't as fun as I thought it would be.

"You cold?" asked Justin, knowing it was more of a rhetorical question. He then reached over the arm rest of the couch and grabbed a large, warm blanket, and put it over both his and Britney's laps. Then he picked up the remote and resumed flicking through chanels. "Thanks." Britney muttered. Looks like it's getting a little better. Britney thought. Then she noticed he wasn't paying any attention to her. Nevermind. she thought, turning her eyes back to the tv, just as Justin stopped on a comedy show.
